Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACTSpatial Modelling Impact for Sumatran Serow Occupancy [Capricornissumatmensissumatraensis (Bechsteiu, 1799)] at Sipurak-Kerinci Seblat National Park, Jambi.Existency for habitat preference of sumatran serow is very important to support the wildlifemanagement. The research was designed to study the influence of factor of spatialhabitat occupany or habitat preference of sumatran serow [Copricornis sumatraensisAbstractsumotraensis (Bechstein, 1799)l. The detection-non detection survey method was appliedfor observation. Data processed by using software Arcview 3.2, and PRESENCE PC.From the ten model selected, there was little variation in the estimates of occupancy (Y )IPA0 (ranging from 0,7283 to 0,7637) and detection probability orp (0,2407 to 0,2495).The top two ranked models are distance to forest and slope. Its mean th%t distance toforest and slope have good influence on occupancy of Sumatran serow. The factors ofspatial habitat have positive correlation to PAO. Sumatran serow occupancy was greaterin grid cells that were further from the forest edge, in grid cells that were located onsteeper slopes, and also from others spatial habitat factors.Key words: The factor of spatial habitat; sumatran serow; PAO; detection probability; Sipurak.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Growth of Tarnbra fish (Tor tambroides) and Kancera fish (Tor soro) inDomestication Process with Different Fed. The experiment was conducted toevaluate the growth of two mahseer (tambra and kancera) from Muller Mountainareas in Central Kalimantan which were different fed in aquarium i.e: A. Frozenworm, B. Fish feed, and C. shrimp feed. The experiment follows Randomized CompleteDesign Methods. The replication of treatment is three times, each aquarium filled with1 individual as treatment and replication. They were fed daily for 100 days andmeasured each 20 days. The results showed shrimp feed gave growth fastest (0.460gldays), and the lowest is 0.170 gldays; the growth oftambra fish faster than kancerafish. The water quality of aquarium is suitable for growing these fish.Kata kunci: Growth, Tambra fish (Tor tambroides), Kancera fish (Tor soro), Fed

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Productivity of Periphytic Diatom Grown on Different Types of Substrates asan Alternative on Providing Natural Feed for shrimp. Providing natural feed is anattempt to support fisheries culture in a polite way for the sustainability of environment.Periphytic community is living aquatic resources that have a potential value for thispurpose. The major component of saline water periphytic community is diatom. The study was emphasized on diatom presentation grown on two types of artificialsubstrates: biocrete (sand, palm fiber, cement) and zeocrete (zeolite, palm fiber, cement). The reseach was conducted in laboratory with an experimen design follows split splitplot in times. The aim of the research is to study the ecological factor and availablenutrients to support the growth of periphitic diatoms (Amphora, Cyclotella, Melosira,Navicula, Phaeodactylum, and Thallassiosira) on two different substrates. Theproductivity of diatom, and the effect of shrimp larvae on the diatom productivity werealso analyzed. Two fertilized materials (biocrete and zeocrete) with two main treatmentsand three levels of treatments each, and unfertilized materials were used as artificialsubstrates for periphitic diatoms. The results show that all treatment could give sufficientbiological available nutrient for the diatoms. The highest diatom productivity was achievedby the population on third level ratio of fertilized biocrete and zeocrete (added by fertilizedwith N:P ratio of 30:l). Diatom productivity follows the shrimp larvae grazing. Theshrimp larvae could grow well on the media with diatom that were grown on fertilizedbiocrete.Key words: periphytic diatoms, natural feed, biocrete, zeocrete, productivity

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe influence of zooxanthellae isolated from corals on the growth and suwivorshipof giant clams. Giant clam known as marine bivalves (Tridacnidae) which live in coralreef. One important aspect of giant clam biology is the existence of zooxanthellae assymbiotic algae which have important role source of energy In hatchery operationalprocedure zooxanthellae were introduced into larvae. Zooxanthellae were isolated fromadult clams. Since clams are also known as endangered species, it is important to findother sources of zooxanthellae. The objective of this research is to investigate the effectof introduction of zooxanthellae which were isolated from different sources on the survivaland growth of giant clams larvae. The results showed that there is no differences on thesurvivorship and growth of giant clams larvae introduced by zooxanthellae isolated fromseveral corals. This result has open a possibility of using corals as source of zooxanthellaeinstead of using giant clams.Key words : zooxanthellae, giant clams, survivorship, growth
